A unique and memorable Holiday Program for 5-12-year-old children

Duration: 60 minutes

25 per group/incursion
(30 max; conditions apply)

 What the children can expect

Each session starts with a short SAFETY TALK. The children get to try on safety spectacles (more for effect than any danger involved.
(See also our
FAQ’s).

Then the "serious" woodworking begins.

All children within one group work on the same project. This way each student can easily follow Jim's engaging step-by-step assembly instructions. He explains and demonstrates each step clearly and facilitates the children where needed.

Jim asks leading questions throughout to help guide the students through their own creative process.

Each child gets to make and take home their own toy creation.

New for 2020 (contents not included)

If that’s not enough…

Each student then gets to be even more creative in their own individual UNSTRUCTURED way with our creative box of random wooden shapes, blocks and dowels.

This often leads to some very surprising results!

Our current project choices

As with all our wooden projects, they can also be painted as a follow up activity.

The children were engaged and enthralled

“I'm absolutely loving your work. Some of my fondest memories of my grandfather is him teaching me the wonder of constructing something out of such a lovely material. Wood! We need more hands-on activities like yours for children. The skills you are teaching are being lost. Keep up the fantastic work!

    Such a positive 'hands-on' experience

“The students were in awe of what they learned and built. One little student thought it was 'magic' when Jim demonstrated building the Bird Feeder. It was such a positive 'hands-on' experience. Thanks again.”

The children loved every minute of it

“We thoroughly enjoyed our recent workshop with Jim. The children loved every minute of it. I think if Jim had been there all day, they would have happily constructed their woodwork creations all day long. Again our sincere thanks. We will definitely have you again next year.”

“The kids were proud as punch to show off their Bird Feeders but even more enjoyment was portrayed in their excitement talking about their left over wood creations! They made water slides, Ferris wheels, spaceships galore. Jim was fabulous with the kids and we can't wait to paint their Bird Feeders tomorrow. We will definitely recommend your company and book you again.”

— Bettina Harrison, Foundation Teacher, OUR HOLY REDEEMER PRIMARY SCHOOL, Surrey Hills
